Old Man Compton
Words and Music by John Compton

Far down the drive, around the lake
past the locked gates, atop the old estate
its there he waits

a young man, now old
his virtuous and bold
heart turned cold
why? no one knows

was it a sickness? there has been no witness
to dismiss this, so its not
entirely preposterous

or a hidden madness, brought on my the sadness
of his missing family and poor,
unfortunate little sis

but most surely, his remote and surly
position and disposition is purely
the result of…
an evil she-devil

so to those who dare trespass
just to see his silhouette pass
sooner see the hounds pound the grass
just before they clutch their bitten ass

You Found It!

If the wind will not serve, take to the oars.
