Summertime In San Diego

By Songs2 min read

Good Lord
its summertime in san diego

a cool breeze
feels good on my skin
and the water is so blue
i got to step in
people in the streets
but you know where i’ve been
cooling my throat
and get inside the scene

take a look around
and feel the dark beneath the night
i’m heading home
by the stars guiding light
over the tracks
and I’m out of site

Oh lord where could I go?
its summer in san diego

bumping into people
I know out on the street
but I don’t linger
too long to burn my feet
how to do you survive?
just running the days away
let the laughter roll
is what I always say
no time for hurtin’
no time for telling lies
no where to go
cause you cannot deny

so much spent and
so little left to keep
hold onto you smile,
and get a good night’s sleep
you can spend your time time carelessly
but keep a close watch on your heart
One word says hello
but just one word can part
handshakes are free
but can’t be redeemed
and nothing is worth
as much as it seems
best to be alone
in this wilderness of song
when it comes, it comes fast
but it won’t last long

oh lord, so much left to know
summer in san diego

You Found It!

If the wind will not serve, take to the oars.
